Celebrating Senior Health and Fitness Day

Age is just a number, but a healthy lifestyle is essential for any age group. healthy lifestyle. On May 31st, we celebrate National Senior Health and Fitness Day, a day for older adults to stay active and motivated to lead healthier lives. Kendal offers a variety of activities, events, and programs that promote an active lifestyle.

Staying healthy is a journey, not a destination. Kendal communities and Kendal at Home support older adults in maintaining their physical, social, and emotional well-being. On-site community opportunities include many options for staying active, including fitness classes, yoga, strength training, swimming, and more, with state-of-the-art fitness centers, hiking trails, and outdoor recreational areas, providing residents plenty of opportunities to stay active.

Research has shown that exercise can help older adults reduce the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis. It can also improve cognitive function and reduce the risk of depression and anxiety. At Kendal, mental and cognitive health is as important as physical health.
