First residents move into Kendal at Lexington’s new Sunrise Ridge cottages

Sept. 25, 2019, Lexington, Virginia — During the second week of September, two couples moved into homes in Kendal at Lexington’s new Sunrise Ridge development. On Sept. 8, Bob and Suetta Harrison were the first couple to move in, and two days later, Sis and Harry Warner became their new neighbors a couple doors away. Five more cottages will be ready for occupancy in September, and another six cottages are slated for closing dates in October.

Kendal at Lexington’s $40 million expansion and renovation project has reached the half-way point, and work is moving forward on all fronts. When completed, the community will have:

  • 30 new independent living cottages on Sunrise Ridge.
  • Expanded and updated living space in the Webster Assisted Living residences.
  • New “neighborhoods” in the Borden Health Center, with greatly expanded living space and amenities for residents.
  • A strategic upgrade to the Anderson Community Dining venue.

On Sept. 19, Kendal at Lexington posted its fifth video update on YouTube about the expansion and renovation project. It includes inside views of the new cottages, aerial views of the construction sites and interior shots of progress on the Borden Center.
