Do you have construction paper or card stock, crayons, markers, glue, glitter, scissors, a little creativity, some Uplifting, FUN and entertaining thoughts? Kids and seniors who are in need of some uplifting could benefit from your outreach and connection to distract them from their current medical situations.
“Cardz for Kidz!, a Chicago-based nonprofit organization, is dedicated to uplifting spirits across the globe by delivering inspiring handmade cards to disheartened children and solemn seniors around the world. In addition to homemade cards, we have also donated art supplies, electronics, and other engaging activities to encourage our kids and seniors.
Our goal is to help patients and families focus on something besides their current situations. With this in mind, we cannot deliver any card that says: “Get Well Soon,” “Feel Better,” “Hang in There,” or anything else referring to their conditions. Please make sure that your cards are strictly encouraging and uplifting. And, if you speak more than one language, we encourage you to please create cards in more than just English!”

- Tell a joke (lists of best jokes for kids from Goodhousekeeping and Mommypoppins) – Why are fish so smart? Because they live in schools!; Why did the pony get sent to his room? He wouldn’t stop horsing around!; Why couldn’t the pony sing “Happy Birthday?” Because she was just a little hoarse!
- Use a book as an inspiration – Pete the Cat, Good Night Moon, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Where the Wild Things Are, Corduroy, Olivia
- Movie suggestions – Moana, Toy Story, Nemo, Frozen, Inside Out, Lego Movie, Mary Poppins, Sound of Music, Harry Potter, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Up, Trolls
