Nov. 27, 2018—Kendal once again occupies the ninth spot on the list of the nation’s 200 largest not-for-profit, multisite senior living organizations “ranked by independent living units,” according the 15th annual LeadingAge Ziegler 200 (LZ 200) survey released Nov. 14.
The 2018 edition of the LZ 200 survey is based on a snapshot of market-rate unit totals as of Dec. 31, 2017. LeadingAge, the nation’s largest association of not-for-profit aging service providers in the country, and Ziegler is one of the nation’s leading underwriters of financing for not-for-profit senior living providers.
“The goal of sharing this data is to illustrate the size of the not-for-profit segment of the senior living sector, raise awareness of growing systems’ characteristics and overall trends, and further the understanding and delivery of successful senior living,” LeadingAge noted in releasing the 2018 LZ 200 survey.
“The 10 largest providers of senior living represent nearly 30 percent of the total number of units for all systems in the LZ 200,” the report notes among its Key Findings, adding that “Pennsylvania hosts the highest number of system headquarters in the LZ 200 with 32.”
