Dec. 29, 2020—Collington, a Kendal-affiliated Life Plan Community in suburban Washington, D.C., provided vaccinations for 98% of its health center and assisted living residents and more than 150 staff members on Saturday, Dec. 26. Collington staff got a call Friday evening advising them that a CVS pharmacy team would be there the next day to begin immunizing residents and staff with the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
WUSA-TV9 in Washington, D.C., interviewed Collington CEO Ann Gillespie and COO Megan Barbour for a news story broadcast Saturday titled “It’s a Shot of Hope.”
Washington’s ABC-TV affiliate WJLA also broadcast coverage of the vaccinations at Collington in a story titled “Hope is on the Way.”
