"Look Up" - A moving art installation project inspires hope during COVID

What do you tell yourself when you face adversity?” Elizabeth Turk asked residents of a 31-acre community that she used as her canvas and its 500 residents and staff members as her medium in her latest moving art installation. Residents prepared handwritten responses such as “Be brave,” “I am a warrior” and “Breathe,” that will be incorporated into Ms. Turk’s final multimedia artwork, entitled “Project: Look Up.”

Project: Look Up was modeled after her 2018 Shoreline Project that brought together 1,000 volunteer performers at Laguna Beach at twilight, equipped with specially designed, illuminated umbrellas where they meandered in both spontaneous and choreographed movement. Shoreline Project created a shared common experience amongst the performers and an engaging spectacle for thousands of viewers from the surrounding cliffs and buildings.

Another moving art producer, Louie Schwartzberg, is the only filmmaker in the world who has been shooting time-lapse 24/7 continuously for over four decades. Moving Art by Louie Schwartzberg has been selected to partner with Netflix to produce a third season of his award-winning Moving Art series, following a successful Season 1 & 2. The series tells stories that celebrate life and reveal the mysteries and wisdom of nature, people and places.

His work also includes a virtual immersive Visual Healing program designed to bring a sense of natural wonder, healing serenity, restoration and well-being. Advanced research in areas of health and wellness show positive effects on health outcomes, including shorter length of stay in hospital, increased pain tolerance and decreased anxiety. View the vast library of every natural environment that exists on land, sea, and air, following the passage of the sun, the stars, and intimate cityscapes.

The Moving Art Experience, founded in 2015, was created as a platform within the minority community to connect the world of art and yoga. The event itself combines live body painting, the art of yoga, live performances, music, vendors, and so much more, with the goal of showing anyone who attends is inspired to become their true self. Watch the 4th annual MovingArtExperience – Mind, Body, and Soul Weekend
