July 11, 2026 —TEAM NEWS
Welcome Lauryn Moore and Brenda Mahan — and a refreshed guide to who does what.
Over the past year, we asked Affiliates a simple question: what do you need from TKC Marketing?
The answer was consistent across every community we visited:a team that is easier to reach, faster to respond and a true partner in daily work.
During the recent listening tour, we also heard of the need for creative design experience to support digital and print marketing. We listened, and we have rebuilt the team around what you told us.
That work brings two new colleagues into the fold. We are delighted to welcome Lauryn Moore as Sales and Marketing Operations Director and Brenda Mahan as Creative Marketing Strategist. Together with Marquis Hynson, our expert Marketing Specialist, and our longtime public relations and crisis communications partners at AKCG, they form a marketing model that is proactive rather than reactive and integrated rather than fragmented.
Welcome, Lauryn Moore
Lauryn joined TKC Marketing on April 28 as Sales and Marketing Operations Director — a role at the very center of how TKC serves Affiliates each day. She is the leader of all Kendal marketing systems, including Kendal.org, Kendal Net, Salesforce and HubSpot. Lauryn makes sure Affiliate needs are heard, tracked and resolved.
Lauryn has spent her career in nonprofit health care. She came to TKC from Episcopal Retirement Services, where she led successful sales and marketing operations for a multi-state senior living provider of community-based, in-home and outreach services for adults ages 62+. Before that, she served as Director of Marketing and Communications at UC Health in Cincinnati, overseeing communications across more than 150 locations including assisted living, memory care and geriatric medicine services. Her expertise spans digital and CRM governance as well as strategic marketing planning for sales and occupancy growth, including strength in project management and service-response optimization — turning complex needs into clear, actionable support across many audiences at once.
Lauryn has been actively getting to know Affiliate Marketing teams and learning what makes each Kendal organization unique.
“Starting my work with Kendal at the Marketing Gathering at Enso Village was a terrific way for me to connect in person with fellow marketing professionals and to learn about the many ways our organization and Affiliates stand out as a cut above,” said Lauryn. “That experience, along with my detailed onboarding plan, has allowed me to jump-start work on building a marketing operations system that can be more responsive to Affiliate needs while staying true to the values that unite us.”
Welcome, Brenda Mahan
Brenda joined on May 26 as Creative Marketing Strategist, bringing dedicated content and design capacity directly in service of Affiliate needs — the digital-first assets, social content and brand materials today’s prospective residents expect.
Brenda has spent more than 20+ years developing digital and branding strategies for health care organizations. She joins us from University of Cincinnati Health, where she served as Brand Manager and the primary point of contact for marketing, communications and creative requests across multiple service lines. Earlier in her career, she was Design Director at LPK, a global brand design agency, leading creative for clients including P&G, Kroger and Kellogg’s.
Brenda understands that content is never just words on a page. In Kendal communities, where residents have lived rich, full lives and team members bring extraordinary dedication, the stories we tell carry real weight. Whether she is producing materials for Kendal.org, supporting an Affiliate campaign or putting her creative touch on an individual brochure, she brings consistency, craft and care to everything she touches.
“My primary goal at Kendal is to be of service to Affiliate partners,” says Brenda. “I recognize that the day-to-day job of a Marketing Director or a Marketing Coordinator is spent putting out fires and responding to prospects, and if I can provide a service to quickly handle something they need, I know I am doing a good job.”
A Note of Gratitude: Thank You, Jessica
This new chapter follows the close of another. As of June 10, the Director of Communications and Public Relations position was eliminated, and we say a heartfelt thank-you to Jessica Buhler. Jessica began her Kendal journey at Kendal at Lexington, where she served for eight years and led sales and marketing for the expansion project, before joining TKC three years ago. We are grateful for her years of service and wish her well in what comes next.
