AI in aging services: Jonathan Jedeikin

Jonathan Jedeikin, Chief Information and Privacy Officer at The Kendal Corporation, will speak on two panels about the practical side of AI.

On Saturday, October 24, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, he joins Donald Macaskill, CEO of Scottish Care, at the Global Aging Network Summit (Technology) for a conversation on the ethics of AI.

On Wednesday, October 28, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, he joins “Beyond the Hype: AI’s Future in Aging Services” (12-L) with Peter Kress, Innovation and Security Advisor, Acts Retirement-Life Communities, Inc.; Scott Collins, CEO, Link-age Solutions; and Katie Griffith, Principal CEO, Bright Solutions.

Age and ability inclusion: Morgan Lamphere

On Sunday, October 25, from 2:45 to 3:45 PM, Morgan Lamphere, Senior Director of Communications, Marketing and Sales at The Kendal Corporation, joins a panel on “Crafting Messages that Advance Age and Ability Inclusion” (62-B). She will be joined by Meg LaPorte, Co-Founder, Art Against Ageism; Adrienne Mansfield, Co-Founder, ADage Marketing Group; and Robin Visser, Director of Marketing & Digital Strategy, Christian Living Communities.

The panel looks at how ageism and ableism show up in aging services and health care, from narrow stock photos to messaging that treats support as surrender. Panelists will share real examples of messaging that shifts from protection to autonomy, and from “peace of mind” to belonging.

Morgan will also share the story of Humboldt Commons, a Life Plan Community of 121 homes and apartments in Humboldt, California. The Uncommon Ground campaign helped the community feel of Humboldt, not for Humboldt. When 10% pre-sale deposits opened on August 1, the community received 32 deposits in the first 30 days.

Leading through change: Vassar Byrd and Mike Gross

On Tuesday, October 27, from 8:30 to 9:30 AM, Vassar Byrd, CEO of The Kendal Corporation, joins Mike Gross, President of AKCG, for a conversation on leading and communicating with clarity in uncertain times (30-G).

Mike will guide the discussion, and Vassar will share candid thoughts on where aging services are headed and how leaders can steer without having every answer. They will also explore how Kendal’s consensus decision making works, why listening and deciding are not the same thing, and how to bring people through change with trust and honesty.

Come say hello

If you are attending, we hope you will catch a session and cheer on our colleagues. Thank you to Vassar, Jonathan, and Morgan for representing the Kendal System. We will share highlights after the event.
