March 4, 2025 —On February 19, colleagues across the Kendal System gathered to commemorate the retirement of a truly great person and an extraordinary leader who, throughout his 45-year career, has left a lasting mark on Kendal through his dedication, kindness, and wisdom.

Howard Braxton recently retired from his role as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Communications at The Kendal Corporation. He has personified the values that make Kendal exceptional—warmth, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence. His thoughtful leadership and ability to inspire collaboration have set a gold standard for us all. Insightful and steady, Howard’s approach was always delivered with a nurturing spirit and genuine good humor.
Walking in the footsteps of incredible mentors like Barb Parsons, Astrid Dorsey, Bill Silbert, Colleen Ryan Mallon, and Laura Jones, Howard continued Kendal’s tradition of excellence, elevating the marketing team to new heights. Simply put, Howard’s shoes will be hard to fill.

Many at Howard’s retirement celebration shared fond memories of his charisma and quirks. Howard’s genuine welcoming smile made every new team member feel valued, while his sense of humor made each day brighter.
These qualities made Howard not just a colleague but a friend.
