Since 1998, she has been the Director of Resident Health Care Services at Kendal at Hanover in Hanover, New Hampshire. In addition to Cox’s expertise in health and well-being, she brings a variety of other strengths to her new job including teaching, strategic thinking, organizational management and a passion for the work. Cox played a key role in the successful genesis and development of Vitalize 360 at Kendal at Hanover.
Vitalize 360 combines an award-winning, innovative, person-directed approach to wellness coaching with the power of information derived from a scientifically grounded assessment system. The program engages, challenges and inspires individuals to live full, healthy, vibrant lives and enables communities to demonstrate significant improvement in successful aging.
Vitalize 360 is a joint venture between Kendal and Hebrew SeniorLife, a Harvard Medical School Affiliate. Both organizations have long recognized the importance of measuring and influencing outcomes for themselves and for the aging services field. The program is designed to develop engaged cultures that embrace well-being, person-directed care and services, quality and continuous learning. LeadingAge Massachusetts honored Vitalize 360 with its 2015 Program Innovation of the Year Award.
Cox’s responsibilities as Vitalize 360 Executive Director will include overseeing program development, operations, new partnerships, and membership support and growth. One of several important initiatives she will be directing is the expansion of Vitalize 360 into affordable housing communities and noninstitutional settings, including continuing-care-at-home programs.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled with Diana taking on this new role,” Sean Kelly, CEO of Kendal, said. “She led a team to build a very successful Vitalize 360 program at Kendal at Hanover, and has made a significant contribution to the Vitalize 360 Development Team. Diana’s passion, depth of knowledge, leadership skills and commitment to quality will be instrumental in facilitating the continued development and expansion of the program.”
“Diana has helped to guide the development of Vitalize 360 from the ground up not just with Kendal at Hanover but with several other Kendal communities,” said Aline Russotto, Executive Director of Orchard Cove. “It’s a perfect time in the evolution of the program for her to step into this position, and I’m confident that she’ll bring spirit, tenacity and vision to her new role.”
Vitalize 360 helps individuals and communities move from “what’s the matter” to “what matters most.” It increases the quality and depth of engagement between staff and residents/members, a requirement for really knowing them as individuals. With Vitalize 360, organizations are able to be more strategic and predictive around health and wellness operations and utilization. For continuing care communities, the program can help individuals live vibrantly and independently longer, potentially freeing health center beds and services for individuals in the community at large.
