Howard Braxton Joins Kendal as Director for Sales and Marketing

Aug. 2, 2017, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania—Howard Braxton has joined Kendal’s corporate team as Director for Sales and Marketing. He comes to Kendal with extensive experience as a sales and marketing executive in senior living and health care.

Braxton’s primary responsibility will be to serve as a resource for 12 Kendal-affiliated retirement communities in eight states and for Kendal at Home. He will provide a wide range of sales expertise and on-site training and visit Kendal communities frequently to assist with strategy and occupancy improvement challenges, as well as with marketing activities to support expansions and new developments.

Most recently he worked with Hamlyn Senior Marketing in Haddonfield, New Jersey, where he served as a sales and marketing consultant for Life Plan Communities. There he provided clients with sales training, ongoing coaching, lead follow-up and sales event planning. He also helped with customer relationship management (CRM) database utilization reviews, including program and staff allocation recommendations. In addition, he was closely involved with marketing agency management and selection, and with outreach and networking program development.

From 2006 to 2015, Braxton worked for ACTS Retirement-Life Communities in West Point, Pennsylvania. As Vice President of National Sales, his responsibilities included sales management of 23 communities in eight states from Florida to Pennsylvania. In that position, he worked with 21 executive directors and with both region- and community-based sales directors on business development, oversaw sales plan development and implementation and provided sales training and coaching.

“I have learned the business from the ground up and have managed sales and marketing staff at the community, regional, division and corporate levels,” Braxton says. “I look forward to meeting and working with staff throughout the Kendal System to advance our mission and values.”

Braxton attended Penn State and Temple University and has a bachelor’s degree in community health education and counseling. He and his family live in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.

Kendal-affiliated retirement communities are located in Hanover, New Hampshire; Ithaca and Sleepy Hollow, New York; Northampton and Easthampton, Massachusetts; Lexington, Virginia; metro Washington, D.C.; Chicago; Kennett Square, West Chester and Newtown, Pennsylvania; and Oberlin, Ohio. Kendal at Home, based in suburban Cleveland, combines the security of a Life Plan Community with the freedom and independence of living at home.
