Ways to Give That Fit Your Wishes and Needs

We welcome your gifts to support Kendal’s communities, services and outreach. Please contact our Director for Philanthropy to discuss your interest. She can be reached at 610-335-1223 or via email.

The following are ways in which to provide your financial support for a Kendal community, program or service:

Outright Gifts of Cash or Securities An outright gift in the form of cash or securities permits an immediate federal income tax deduction. Gifts of long-term appreciated securities offer additional benefits.

Bequests Another way of giving is through your will. Suggested wording for a bequest might be as follows: “I bequeath to (name of community, program or service) or (Kendal Charitable Funds, a not-for-profit Pennsylvania corporation) the sum of $_____ (or % of your estate) to be used for its general purposes (or specify the particular community or purpose you wish to benefit).

Planned Gifts These are gifts made over a period of time, and which are structured to meet your specific financial objectives while also benefiting Kendal. Planned gifts offer significant advantages of favorable income, as well as savings on capital gains and estate taxes. Options include gift instruments such as Charitable Gift Annuities, Charitable Remainder Unitrusts, Charitable Remainder Annuity Trusts, or our Pooled Income Fund. These options allow donors to transfer cash or other assets to Kendal but retain an income from the assets for life. Such a gift can be earmarked for any community or purpose you wish. We will be happy to provide you with more information. Click to read more about the Kendal Pooled Income Fund.

Memorial Gifts You may wish to make a contribution to Kendal in honor of someone of significance to you. Perhaps it is someone who has served the Kendal organization as a board or staff member. Perhaps it is someone who has had an interest in improving the lives of older adults. Gifts will be recognized.
